<p>Have you ever gone to a party and had the most amazing time?  What if you could recreate that fun feeling and find a way to have that be how you make your living?</p>
<p> Norry Ascroft knows how to be the life of the party.  His alter-ego is Lionel Vinyl, “your disco dance teacher”.  Everything about Norry exudes fun!  Norry has indeed found a way to live this fun lifestyle while earning a living at it.  But he goes beyond simply being an entertainer – Norry is passionate about helping kids, and uses his character to engage kids in learning principles of success.</p>
<p><span id="more-1960"></span><br />
 At 16 years old, Norry realized he enjoyed working with people; he was absolutely passionate about being at the c<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1962" title="Linoel_Vinyl" src="http://www.i-saga.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Linoel_Vinyl.jpg" alt="Linoel_Vinyl" width="200" height="283" />enter of a fun time.  He was willing to start at the bottom and work his way up.  One night when he was working at the bar in a night club, the DJ suggested they switch roles for a while- he did, and had the time of his life!  This experience was the catalyst for multiple characters he played, including the popular celebrity Lionel Vinyl.</p>
<p> Think about the times you’ve has a brief opportunity to try your passion for a while.  Just like well known public speaker Les Brown seized the opportunity to cover for an absent DJ to launch his radio voice, Norry jumped into this role which opened up many new doors for him.</p>
<p> At this point in his life Norry is switching gears and following his passion about helping the teens in the UK.  He has created “The Positive Youth Trust” in which Norry provides training to create a positive thinking process for our youth and teaches teens how to “help others help themselves”.  He leverages his character, Lionel Vinyl, to help him get his message across.</p>
<p> Norry is a remarkable person with a wonderful style and energy about him.  As you listen to this interview, you’ll surely get excited about your passions.</p>
<p> You’ll also be entertained, especially toward the end of the interview when Lionel Vinyl shows up as a special guest to say a few words!</p>

<p>Over the last 20 years, Six-Time EMMY® award winner Shawne Duperon has interviewed most presidents and hundreds of celebrities and sports stars. She knows what it takes to grow relationships, especially with reporters, producers, editors and influential bloggers. This former ABC and NBC reporter has trained thousands across the globe how to powerfully network and leverage traditional and social media.</p>
<p>Shawne is a champion networker, and has figured out how to apply the same principles of networking to working with the media.  Like great networking times 100.  The principle of reciprocity plays true here – you want to make the life of the media people you’re courting super easy.</p>
<p><span id="more-1932"></span></p>
<p>Remember, giving and receiving go hand in hand.  Help other people get what they want and you can expect to eventually get the help you need toward your goals.</p>
<p>One of the biggest lessons in this interview is about “Agenda Theory”.  This states that 90% of what makes it on the air is pitched, not created by the media from scratch.  What does this mean for you?</p>
<p>It means that you have the responsibility to start these conversations with the media people that you want to cover your work.  They may or may not be ready for you every time, but over time, you will be pleasantly surprised how many stories are about you.</p>
<p>During this interview, Shawne shares a detailed formula for how to become a master at this process.  I plan to listen to this more than once, because the content is so relevant and helpful as I consider how to leverage the media – you might do the same.</p>
<p>Shawne also shared a few thoughts about Social Media for you.  The principles are similar to traditional media, starting with the basic principles of great networking.  Be helpful to others.  If you’re not committing any time to Social Networking now, then start with 2 minutes per day.  And have fun!</p>

<p>Do you have huge goals and dreams, but find yourself too hectic and stressed to actually make progress on them?   How often have you been excited about what you want to achieve but then your frustration level climbs sky high because the world around you seems to have its own ideas of what you should be spending your time on (too often these are fighting the daily fires!).  Before you know it, weeks have gone by and you have made barely any progress.  UGH!</p>

<p>This may seem obvious – that the quality of your relationships will determine the quality of your results.  It definitely is obvious if you think about your critical business relationships, like your employees, suppliers, partners, customers, etc.</p>
<p>But what about ALL your relationships, including your friends and family members?  In fact, your significant other may be the most critical relationship of them all.</p>
<p>
 Consider this – if that significant other relationship is broken, do you think it will be easy to stay focused on the task at hand as you’re driving aggressively toward your huge business aspirations, or would you be distracted?  What about the opposite situation, when all your personal relationships are humming along wonderfully – can you imagine how easy it is to then be in the flow of great results in all areas of your business?</p>

<p>Do you have a difficult customer who demands more than you’re willing to give, requires more skill to manage, and who pushes all your buttons?  (Me too.)</p>
<p>Do you sometimes wish they would go away (but, then you’re telling revenue to go away), or would you rather find a way to turn them into a wonderful, loyal customer who refers you to all their friends (this is the way to go, baby!).</p>
<p>This week’s guest, Marilyn Suttle, is the author of “Who’s Your Gladys? How to Turn Even the Most Difficult Customer into Your Biggest Fan”.  She will share how you can not only effectively manage your difficult customers, but will describe the things you can do to convert them.</p>

<p>Marilyn learned that the basic skills that great parents use with their kids can work with customers, too.  She then started a jamming career helping organizations to improve their customer service.  <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1733" title="Who'sYourGladysCover" src="http://www.i-saga.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/WhosYourGladysCover-198x300.jpg" alt="Who'sYourGladysCover" width="139" height="210" /></p>
<p>So, who is Gladys?  If you’re perspective is right, Gladys is your friend.  She’s good news.  And she’s a complainer who is in your face.  Why is that good?  Because what she’s bothering to tell you about is probably on other customers’ minds, too – they just don’t care enough to speak up (and they may go away without you knowing about it).</p>
<p>Welcoming your customers as guests into your world helps to provide great customer service, too.  When the phone rings with a complaint, it’s not a problem – it’s a person to connect with.</p>
<p>Marilyn shares proactive examples of great customer service design, too.  I like the story of how Singapore Airlines designed a space on their planes with the input of some core customers.  These are 20-hr flights, so customer comfort is important!</p>
<p>Toward the end of our interview, Marilyn does share that there may be some instances that the right move might be to let a customer go.  Make sure you know the difference!  If they compromise your values or act unethically, then give them the boot (or refer them to your competitor!).</p>

<p>You can use Press Release strategies for anything that is “newsworthy” – that is, information that people don’t yet know about.  Think of all the projects you’re working on now – can you see the possibility?   Think of your release of a new product or service.  Think of your new book, your new certification, or being the keynote at a major conference.  Can you see the world reacting to your press release?  Feels good, doesn’t it.</p>
<p>The Press Release idea is a great way to build credibility and followers, especially if you integrate your Social Media strategy with your press releases.  Tweet, post to your fan page, blog, etc about your press release, with the link to the press release right there!  So simple, yet is it something you’re doing already?</p>
<p>Lisa reminds us, “Your number 1 job is as a marketer, and press releases are part of part of your marketing strategy.” </p>

<p>That’s the message from this week’s guest, Kevin Klimowski.  Kevin is the author of “Millionaire Secrets in You: 52 Tips to Uncover, Unlock and Unleash the Success within You”.  Kevin reminds us that skills can be learned but if your mindset isn’t right you won’t succeed.</p>
<p>Kevin’s mindset shifted permanently when he was diagnosed with cancer.  It was his positive attitude that ultimately helped him win the battle for his life.  He shares that prior to cancer, he was all about “me!”, and after cancer, he was all about “how can I serve other people?”</p>
<p>We also have the ability to shift our results, but we don’t need our lives to be threatened to decide its time.  In fact, why not decide right now to shift your attitude and mindset to be more positive?</p>
<p>Kevin points out you can change your entire existence in just a heartbeat when you decide to shift your attitude.  He provides many examples during the interview of how this is true for us.</p>
<p>Shifting your attitude and mindset begins with awareness.  We can’t shift what we’re not aware of.  Notice when you use negative thoughts or words, and simply decide to substitute a better feeling thought – one that can empower you to the results you want to achieve.</p>
<p>Remember, our thoughts form our words, which shape our actions, which determine our habits, which define our character, which ultimately creates our future.  It all starts in our minds, so why not begin deliberately shaping how you think?</p>

<p>We all make mistakes. Sometimes we make them when no one is watching, and we can simply go back and start again. Like practicing the piano in a room by yourself. No big deal, right?</p>
<p>Other times, we have an audience – like that same piano player making a mistake in front of an audience. The thing with musicians is that they learn to keep playing despite their mistakes, and often the audience doesn’t even realize there was anything that wasn’t supposed to be there.</p>
<p>There are times, though, when its out there and obvious. You can’t get around it. What do you do? Freeze up, or roll with it and keep going?</p>
<p>I suggest you have a laugh, enjoy the moment, and then pick up where you left off or rewind and take a “do-over”.</p>

This week’s guest, Master Results Coach Sean Smith, will teach you how to stop the self-sabotage and erase the internal obstacles that are holding you back from all your goals and dreams in your life and business.  </p>
<p><span id="more-1652"></span></p>
<p>Sean describes how to recognize when we’re stuck in patterns and bad habits.  In fact, these patterns were created by us to help protect us.  We learned these habits in response to something else, and are actually solutions to some deeper problem or issue.</p>
<p>The key is to figure out what these deeper problems or issues are, understand your personal details around the issue, and then reframe your interpretation around the issue.  You may need help and guidance to do this, but it’s worth the effort.</p>
<p>It would be nice if there was a one-size-fits-all solution for all of our root issues, but as Sean tells us, we have to do our own work applied directly to our own story and our own details.</p>
<p>We spent a lot of our discussion time understanding the process of how we sabotage our results.  I love the example Sean used to illustrate how this works and I’m now enlightened about how self-judgement can cause so many other limiting behaviors, such as perfectionism or procrastination.  </p>
<p>As entrepreneurs, we judge ourselves constantly.  The decisions we make, the projects we take on, how we spend our time, the results we achieved, etc.  The list goes on.  Most of us have had some negative experiences (probably in childhood) that led us to decide that we don’t want to be judged.  So, our powerful subconscious mind goes to work preventing us from finishing projects – that way we can’t be judged, right?</p>
<p>Our task is not to work on the symptoms like perfection or procrastination – time management courses will not help you!  These can only be solved once we deal with our fear about being judged and the perceived risk of pain associated with completing our projects.</p>
<p>As soon as we remove the risk, we remove the resistance.</p>
<p>Another important insight is the biggest hidden obstacle for most entrepreneurs is the fear of success.  Remember, this is below the surface.  Here we are trying had to make our mark on the world and somehow we’re not able to make it big.  It seems like our big break is right around the corner – so what’s happening?  Just like the example above, we may be sabotaging ourselves because of some hidden fear we don’t know exists.</p>
