It’s Time for Camp Canfield

During the summer, everyone goes to camp, right? Some kids go to “day camp” where they still live at home but get rides to camp every day, while others go away for a week (or longer) and enjoy the added adventure of sleeping away from home with their new friends.

Camp is great because it is designed to create wonderful life-changing experiences with interactive events that provide learning and personal growth.

As adults, we have the opportunity to enjoy camp, too. Doesn’t the idea of spending a week away from the daily grind sound appealing? Add the life-changing experiences to enhance your skills, grow, and become a better person, and it’s difficult to say no to a camp like this.

Well, every year at this time, Jack Canfield holds camp – his 7-day training called Breakthrough to Success. I’m on my way to this special training for the third year in a row, and my wife is joining me for the second time. Like the idea of camp, we have been looking forward to this for weeks and expect it to be one of the highlights of our year.

Learn more about Breakthrough to Success and sign up now for this training. While you're there, come say hello to me and let me know that you read about “Camp Canfield” in this i-saga newsletter.

Don’t Forget Camp for Your Teens

Teresa Huggins is another friend with a great cause. She leads a camp for teens, which incorporates many of the same principles you will learn with Jack Canfield’s Breakthrough to Success. Her camp, called Leaders for Life Teen Camp, is worth a look!

Teresa encourages parents to attend Breakthrough to Success and let their teens experience Leaders for Life Teen Camp that same week. Learn more and sign up today!

Please visit i-saga-guest-interviews.com every Friday for access to the weekly interviews. That's the "guest interview" category section of the i-saga.net blog page.

You’re Halfway There!

You sat down and listed your goals to achieve this year back in January. So, how are you doing?

We are already halfway through 2009. It is time to take an honest assessment of where you are in terms of the goals you defined as important to hit this year. Here are some things to think about:

  • What did you want to achieve in 2009?
  • How many of those goals have you attained thus far?
  • How many of the goals you have yet to accomplish are still important?
  • Is there anything that you now realize is not a priority?
  • What do you have to do to get back on track to assure you are going to achieve everything you set out to achieve?

The first step to reevaluating your goals is to make a list of what’s most important now. What else has come into your life that may now be a priority, such as a new business deal or a deadline that you need to meet? Take time and think about what is vital, based on what you know now. Life happens, and when you set goals 6 months ago your intentions were to hit all goals on your list. So, are these goals still most important to you? If they are, then go for it!

Be realistic with your progress and recommit to your most important goals for the rest of this year. You may choose to delay the timing of some of your original goals and jump-start others immediately. Just make sure it’s a conscious choice. Choose to play full out and or choose not to play. Don’t put one foot in each camp.

It is always good to review status through the year, reassess, and decide what will help you become the most fulfilled. This brings me to my next point.

Next, get on track and be proactive. If you are not on track, then you may have to make some choices about how you are spending your time. Create a calendar or make a list. Physically writing a list and numbering the central activities will help you stay focused and accomplish what is essential.

Make sure you are taking at least one action every day towards at least one of your goals. Remember, action is what will keep momentum going and invite feedback so you can make course corrections.

Finally, keep in mind that you don’t have to do everything yourself. It is essential to seek help. If you don’t know where to start or what the next step should be, then think about what other resources you could pull in to help you.

* * *

This is the perfect time to reassess your goals for the year, or even the time to make a new list. Redefine the biggest priority for this month and for the next 90 days, stay on track, be proactive, and seek help from different resources who can help you achieve what you want by the end of 2009. Good Luck!

To your highest success,

Pete Winiarski
